Luckily for our clients we have been in the industry for over a decade, and as a result, have worked alongside a large amount of fabulous and different suppliers suitable for all budgets.

Weddings can take up to 200+ hours to plan. This is our full-time job so we can dedicate our time and energy to you.

As we have been in the events industry for over a decade, we have a huge amount of recommended suppliers to hand, and are knowledgeable and experienced in planning events seamlessly and professionally.

We will provide you with the best deals and value for money available.

We work solely for you and gain no commission from venues or suppliers. Any discounts we obtain from suppliers are passed directly onto our clients.

We prefer to offer tailor-made packages to suit our client’s individual requirements and budgets.

We work with all our clients to understand and interpret their style for their wedding or event. We offer a theme and design service that allows us to help steer your design concept incorporating all the elements to make your celebration stand out.

All our clients have a similar style in that they all have a love for fun, relaxed and unique celebrations, and it’s our job to deliver your event vision incorporating your style.

As a wedding planning business, we do not have stock of props and decor items or offer styling items to hire. We can however recommend a vast amount of venue stylists as part of our theme and design service to bring together your overall look.

Your venue co-ordinator is responsible for making sure everything is handled at the venue. It is important to note that they work solely for the venue and not you, the client.

SB Events works for you and we have a vested interest in every aspect of your wedding. We spend time getting to know you and they key members of your bridal party.

We create a timeline based around your whole day (and the day before) from the moment you get up. Whereas a venue co-ordinator will only provide a timeline from when you arrive at the venue until you depart.

We will liaise and contact all of your suppliers to make sure they know where they need to be and when, we will know what service they will be providing for you on the big day. Venue co-ordinators usually only provide you with supplier recommendations.

You can contact us whenever and however you like. We do not have 'business hours' like venues do, so if you have a burning question to ask we can get back to you sooner.

Yes, we have planned and organised many different types of celebrations for our clients and their guests. From milestone birthday’s to special anniversaries, we love nothing more than creating memorable amazing parties. On average I organise no more than 10 weddings a year alongside celebrations and corporate events. The time it takes to plan a wedding 200+ hours means that I only take on a certain number at a time so that my clients get my full focus and the wedding they deserve. We devote a huge amount of our time and compassion to our clients and are available throughout for any questions or advice, offering a dedicated wedding planning service.

We have planned many celebrations in marquees and tipi tent structures in private homes and in the grounds of venues across the UK. The best thing about hiring a marquee or tipi is that your can have plenty of space and a blank canvas to work from. That being said, hiring a planner like SB Events to oversee the logistics and practicalities of holding a marquee/tipi celebration is key in making it a success. We oversee the whole process from suppliers, set-up and managing the event on the day and work closely with tent structure companies from the beginning. There are many elements that make a great and successful tipi/marquee wedding, and having an experienced planner on board will help make the day run seamlessly.

SB Events is based in the beautiful city of York. We are fortunate to organise weddings and events on our doorstep, throughout Yorkshire, the North East and across the UK.

We have planned many celebrations and events over the years outside of Yorkshire including Northumberland, Cornwall, Norfolk, Hertfordshire and the South of France to name a few.

I have been managing and co-ordinating events for over 12 years. I started in the corporate events world delivering events all across the UK.

Using my experience and skills, I created SB Events back in 2012 and we are now entering our 10th year in business helping couples on their journey down the aisle and making our clients special events and celebrations a reality.

As each of the weddings and events we plan are totally amazing and unique just like our clients, we do not offer a one price suits all approach.

We do however, look at each event closely and work out a reasonable cost based on different factors such as the size of the wedding/event, the number of suppliers involved, the distance away from our base in York and how much planning will be involved (an average wedding takes over 200+ hours).

We can only provide you with a full bespoke quote after a consultation meeting once we know further details of your wedding or event.

SB Events offer outsourcing for venues by providing them with an event specialist, on an ad-hoc basis to suit their requirements and represent their venue.

These venues may be a small or new and only hold events for certain parts/months of the year and hiring someone full-time is too much.

We can manage future bookings, accompany potential clients on site-visits, oversee venue set-up, and liaise with suppliers and co-ordinate on the day of the event or wedding. On these occasions, we will work as part of the venue, whether that may be as part of a team or working independently.
