Last summer almost a year to the day, I had the pleasure of co-ordinating the wedding of Stefan and Lottie who got married in York on 12 August 2017. I first met with the couple back in March 2017, five months before their special day. They both had a lot of DIY aspects they wanted to include and had three different key locations in York where the wedding would take place and needed help from SB Events to decorate the three venues and co-ordinate on the day liaising with all the suppliers and parties involved and to make sure that their vision they had for their dream wedding was executed effortlessly and perfectly.
Our co-ordination package always starts the same where we meet with our couples six weeks before their wedding day to handover all the supplier and wedding details they have n place. From there we conduct site visits, manage and liaise with suppliers and generate a timeline for all the parties involved so everyone knows where they need to be and when.
We are also on hand to set-up your wedding venue(s) and are there throughout the whole day so our couples can just relax and enjoy the day knowing that all the details are taking care of.
Stefan and Lottie’s wedding was filled with so many wonderful DIY details and little personal touches made by the bride and groom themselves which really made the day extra special for their guests. It truly was a beautiful day from start to finish and I thank Stefan and Lottie for choosing SB Events to be part of their special day.
It’s always lovely to work with wedding suppliers that I haven’t had the pleasure of working with before. I had admired Jade from Gasp Photo Co’s work for many months before and was pleased to hear she would be documenting Stefan and Lottie’s wedding. The images are truly amazing!
The ceremony took place at St Edwards The Confessor Church where Lottie’s mother who is a Reverend married them. Following the church service, the wedding party walked a short distance to the bride and grooms house where they held a champagne drinks reception in the communal garden of the old Victorian Grade II listed building where they lived.
The grounds and orangery were the perfect setting to capture those unforgettable moments. Guests were entertained by an acoustic trio from Might As Well Be Swing and nibbled on donuts and fizz before being transported by coach to the evening reception venue at St Lawrence Church Hall near Walmgate in York.
St Lawrence Church Hall where the reception took place was decorated with foliage and jam jars filled with wild flowers grown by Fieldhouse Flowers and arranged by SB Events and the bridal party the day before. Tables and catering equipment were provided by Blue Sky Event Solutions and Vintage Monkeys supplied the Miss-match wooden chairs. To continue the miss-match vintage theme the bride and groom sourced various vintage crockery from various charity shops to use for the starters.
Guests were treated to large family style sharing platters and bowls of food served by Laura and her team at Dronsfields Catering.
The groom’s local and favourite York brewery Brew York provided the bar and was managed by staff from Bar Events UK the guests were entertained in the evening by the rest of the Might As Well Be Swing Band.
Personal details included personalised pint glasses with homemade ‘Hopily Ever After‘ and ‘I Do Brew’ beer made by the groom, a Polaroid guest message board which the guests loved snapping throughout the day, handmade chalkboard signs and not one but three wedding cakes made by friend of the couple BM Bakes.
It truly was a wonderful wedding and was so much fun to be a part of. Wishing Stefan and Lottie a fabulous 1st wedding anniversary this weekend.
